Evaluations and Assessment

Immigration Evaluations
You and your attorney should decide together that a psychological evaluation will benefit your case, and that I am the optimal choice to serve on your team as the psychological evaluator. There are multiple reasons that a person experiencing immigration may choose to include a psychological evaluation. Commonly, immigration cases which relate to extreme hardship, spousal abuse, cancellation of removal, political asylum, or victimization of a serious crime in the United States (U Visa) and victimization from human trafficking as well as their immediate family members (T visa) are most likely to benefit from a psychological evaluation.
If an interpreter is needed to complete requested services, the interpreter must be scheduled and compensated through your attorney's office. I will confirm verbally with the interpreter at time of service their commitment to confidentiality and I will acknowledge the presence of the interpreter in my final report. Your attorney has the rights to my full record including billing, testing information, and clinical notes. In most cases, a final report will be submitted within two weeks of our last completed, necessary meeting.

Gender Healthcare
Specific medical procedures may require additional documentation from a mental healthcare provider. Typically, these referrals support surgical procedures to address gender incongruence. Your insurance company, your surgeon, or the clinic you are receiving your procedure from all have the right to ask you for a letter of referral. Typically this request can be completed in a single session. My process is reflective of the current guidelines published by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.
